Event planning jobs in Dallas

Dallas-Fort Worth has more corporate headquarters than almost any other US metro, and its events market reflects that: internal meetings, sales kickoffs, incentive programs and a steady association calendar, spread across two downtowns and a ring of resort convention hotels.

What the work actually pays here

Reported pay for event roles in Dallas. Read it as a range, not a promise, the top of a range is a senior planner with a portfolio, not a first job.

The Dallas market

The defining feature of the Dallas market is corporate in-house work. With as many Fortune 500 headquarters as the metro carries, a large share of the salaried planner roles here sit inside companies rather than agencies or venues, running sales kickoffs, user conferences, incentive trips and internal town halls. Those jobs are less visible than agency work because they are advertised as marketing or executive-support roles rather than event roles, which is worth knowing when you search.Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Outlook Handbook, checked July 24, 2026

Freeman, the largest general service contractor in the exhibition industry, is headquartered here, and the surrounding supplier ecosystem (AV, staging, exhibit fabrication) is unusually deep for a market this size. For a coordinator, that means production-side career paths exist locally rather than requiring a move to Las Vegas or Orlando.

The wedding market is large, decentralised and price-segmented by suburb. Salaries stretch further here than in coastal metros, and cost of living is the single biggest reason a planner earning close to the national median can build a sustainable practice in Dallas years before they could in New York or Los Angeles.

When Dallas hires

Corporate programs cluster in January to May and September to November, avoiding the peak summer heat. Wedding season is bimodal (spring through early June, then late September into November) with July and August largely written off for outdoor events.
