Terms of use

The rules that apply to this website, to enrolling in a program, and to using the credential afterwards.

Who these terms are with

This website is operated by International Institute of Event Management LLC, trading as International Institute of Event Management, of 15466 Los Gatos Blvd, Suite 109-26, Los Gatos, CA 95032, USA. By using this site you agree to these terms.

What we are, and what we are not

IIEM operates as an exempt institution under California Education Code §94874. That is an exemption from state oversight for non-degree vocational programs, not an accreditation, and we do not present it as one. We are BBB accredited with an A+ rating and have been since 2012. We do not offer degrees and we do not claim to.

Our programs award professional certificates, and two of them award the GCPE® credential. Neither is an academic degree and neither is a license to practice. Nothing on this site is a promise of employment, of income, or of admission to any other body. What GCPE® is, in full.

Enrolling

  • Enrollment requires English reading and writing, and an internet connection. There is no entrance exam.
  • Payment is handled by our payment provider, whose terms apply to the transaction. Course delivery, assessment and your certificate are handled by us, in our own student portal.
  • Prices are in US dollars. Where a monthly plan is offered, both the monthly amount and the total are shown on the program page and again at checkout.
  • Your enrollment gives you access for up to two years from the date you enroll, and lifetime access to the course materials and their updates.
  • Every program carries a 14-day money-back guarantee. Ask within 14 days of paying and we refund in full, no reason needed, unless you have submitted a graded assignment. The full terms are in our refund policy.

Your account and your work

Your enrollment is personal to you. Do not share your login, and do not submit work that is not your own, assignments are read by a person, and passing off someone else’s work is grounds for withdrawing a credential. You keep the copyright in the work you submit; you give us permission to read it, assess it and keep a copy of it as part of your student record.

Our materials

The curriculum, assignments, templates, the AI planning toolkit and everything else we publish are ours. You may use them for your own study and in your own professional practice. You may not resell them, republish them, or use them to teach a competing course.

Using the GCPE® mark

If you are awarded GCPE® you may use the mark on your résumé, business cards, website and marketing, for as long as the award stands. What you may not do is state or imply that GCPE® is an academic degree, a government license, or an institutional accreditation, because it is none of those, and claiming otherwise on our credential damages every other holder of it.

The award does not expire and there is no annual fee to keep it. Once GCPE® is awarded it is yours permanently.

The job board and the blog

Job listings are gathered from third-party sources and republished for convenience. We do not verify employers, we are not party to any application, and a listing is not a recommendation. Salary figures anywhere on this site are cited to a named source with the date they were checked; they are data, not a promise of what you will earn.

Links to other sites

Where we link out, to a competitor’s pricing page, a job listing, our BBB profile or a review platform. We do not control that site and are not responsible for it.

Availability

We try to keep this site and our programs available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we may change or withdraw a program. If we withdraw a program you are enrolled in, we will let you finish it or refund you.

Liability

Our programs are education. Decisions you make in your own business, what to charge, which contracts to sign, how to insure yourself, are yours, and we are not liable for their outcome. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA.

Changes

If we change these terms we will change this page and update the date at the top of it. Changes do not apply retrospectively to a program you have already paid for.
